Firearm Transfers Information
If you buy a firearm online or from an out-of-state seller, it is imperative to arrange shipment to a Federal Firearm License (FFL) dealer. This step is essential to complete the required paperwork mandated by the ATF, ensuring lawful acquisition of the firearm.
The Transfer Process & Steps:
1) Search for the firearm you would like, purchase it via online or in-person.
2) When purchasing the firearm, you will need to provide your FFL’s information.
3) Enter Quartermaster Arms as your FFL of choice.
4) Contact Quartermaster Arms and provide the shipper’s contact information, details of the firearm and the order or invoice number, or any extra notes

5) We will provide our FFL information (license number & document) to the shipper and arrange for shipment.
6) Once the firearm is delivered, we will notify you via your contact information previously provided arrange a meeting for pickup.
7) Prior to acquiring the firearm, you must complete and sign both ATF Form 4473 and the Virginia State background check. After filling out the ATF form 4473 and a successful Virginia State background check, Quartermaster Arms will relinquish the firearm into your possession.

Please be aware that at times, background checks may experience delays. While some delays can be swiftly resolved within minutes, others may extend over several days. We are committed to keeping you informed in the event that the background check exceeds the expected timeframe.
Important Information when picking up your firearm
When you arrive to pick up your firearm, you MUST have government identification that includes your name, address of residence and date of birth in order to validate that the information provided. Suitable forms of identification include State Drivers License and Military ID.

Appointments are run from 7PM to 9:30PM, Monday thru Wednesday and Friday. We do not typically do appointments on Thursdays, Saturdays or Sundays. If you require an appointment these days, please call or text us at (703) 951-7634 and we will attempt to accommodate you.
What happens if I am denied during a Virginia State Background Check?
If your initial application is denied, it may simply be a misunderstanding that can be resolved by collaborating with local or state police to clarify the cause of the denial.
In times where you are deemed a prohibited person ineligible to receive the firearm, Quartermaster Arms will not be able to transfer the firearm to you or anyone else. Our business will remain in possession of the firearm, and you will be responsible for any return shipping costs or seller restocking fee.
